Enrique White began his journey with A Father’s Place last December. At the time, he was frustrated and discouraged. Despite being a certified welder, he had been unable to find meaningful employment. Compounding his struggles, Enrique was facing serious challenges in his relationship with the mother of his children, who was not allowing him to see them as he was struggling with child support payments. Feeling hopeless, we doubted whether A Father’s Place could actually help him, fearing that it would just be another program that offered no real solutions.
Everything changed when Mr. Pinkney became Enrique’s case worker.
For the first time, Enrique felt truly supported. Mr. Pinkney did not just offer advice, he actively worked alongside Enrique to help him move forward. Understanding his passion for welding, Mr. Pinkney not only provided a job referral, but personally reached out to the company to advocate for Enrique, telling them, “I’ve got a guy who’s certified--he just needs a chance.”
That chance paid off. Enrique got the job and is now working in the profession he loves. During his time in the program, Mr. White not only met his child support obligations—he stepped into his role as a father with consistency and care. The mother of his children now speaks very highly of him and his help with their children. Enrique is now an active part of his family with a better understanding on just how influential and important he is to his children.
Whenever Enrique found himself struggling, on the verge of giving up, he knew he could call Mr. Pinkney and get the support he needed. That guidance made all the difference. "Now I know I can make it in life, thanks to A Father's Place," Enrique said.
A Father’s Place did far more than help Enrique find a job and pay child support. It made him a better man, a better father, and gave him the confidence to believe in his future.
