Terms of Use
A Father’s Place

These terms govern your use of afathersplace.org, online donations to A Father’s Place, and the A Father’s Place text-messaging program. By using the site, making a gift, or opting into texts, you agree to these terms and to our Privacy Policy at afathersplace.org/privacy-policy/.

A Father’s Place is a 501(c)(3) public charity, EIN 57-1145908, and a regional affiliate of the South Carolina Center for Fathers and Families. Offices: 1800 Racepath Avenue, Conway, SC 29527. Phone: (843) 488-2923.

Use of the site

The site is for information about our programs, enrollment, events, and giving. You may not misuse the site, attempt to break its security, scrape it, or post unlawful content. Program descriptions are educational. They are not legal advice on child support, custody, visitation, or expungement. Outcomes depend on each father’s circumstances.

We may change or remove site content at any time. We are not liable for errors, omissions, or third-party sites we link to.

Donations

Gifts are voluntary and tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law. We do not provide goods or services in return unless the receipt says so. Undesignated gifts support general programs at the board’s discretion. A gift restricted to a named campaign is used for that purpose unless the campaign is completed, discontinued, or overfunded, in which case remaining funds may be used for a similar purpose.

Online gifts are processed by [processor name]. You authorize that charge. Refunds are limited to duplicate charges, processing errors, and unauthorized transactions reported within 30 days to (843) 488-2923. A completed gift is otherwise not refundable.

Text-messaging program

Program name: A Father’s Place updates.
Sending number: [10-digit number or short code].
What you receive: program reminders, appointment notices, workshop dates, and occasional news about fatherhood services. Messages are not a condition of receiving services or of making a donation.
Frequency: message frequency varies, up to [4] messages per month.
Cost: message and data rates may apply. Check with your carrier.

Opt in by checking the text box on a form or by texting [KEYWORD] to [number]. We confirm with a message that names A Father’s Place, states that messages are recurring, and tells you how to opt out.

STOP to cancel. After you opt out, we send one confirmation and then stop. Opting out of texts does not end program services.

Supported carriers include AT&T, T-Mobile, Verizon, U.S. Cellular, and others. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.

No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties, except our texting vendor, Ultatel, so it can deliver messages, and when the law requires it. We do not sell, rent, or transfer your consent.

Intellectual property

Site content belongs to A Father’s Place or its licensors. You may share links. You may not copy materials for commercial use without permission.

Liability

The site and text program are provided as is. To the extent the law allows, A Father’s Place is not liable for indirect or consequential damages arising from use of the site, a donation, or a text message. Some states do not allow certain limits, so those limits may not apply to you.

Disputes

These terms are governed by South Carolina law. Disputes are handled in the state or federal courts of Horry County, South Carolina.
